SEGA will take games to the West "as soon as possible"

"The Japanese developers try to look at the Japanese market, but we ask them to look at the global market."

The CNBC news portal has spoken with the president of SEGA, Haruki Satomi, about some issues related to the corporation and, moreover, about the always peculiar relationship of the Eastern market with the West.

"When we try to launch a video game, Japanese developers try to look at the Japanese market, but we ask them to look at the global market," Satomi said in the interview. "At least we reached agreements with them to launch the game at the same time in Japan and the rest of Asia, and we will try to take them to the West as soon as possible ."

The executive also wanted to give his opinion on how the creative process is about the editor. "I do not see the details of a development because I'm not a creative, but, of course, I see if something affects the game itself, only instead of deciding things about it myself, a producer who is responsible game in question, I decide the direction of the game as, for example, if we should prioritize the quality to the deadlines or if we should listen to the opinions of the fans . "

Recently, SEGA itself has made headlines regarding its corporate decisions since they do not plan a sequel for Sonic Mania and, furthermore, because they study taking Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 to PlayStation 4.
