Mobile devices will receive a specific version, the Pocket
Edition.
The relationship between Final Fantasy XV and Nintendo
Switch is somewhat complicated. Hajime Tabata, director of the game, said
during the Gamescom past his intention to bring the game to the Nintendo hybrid
console, but the technical limitations of the console have been a bump when
moving the game, at least without debugging. The most obvious alternative is
the Pocket Edition, a "chibi" version of the RPG that will see the
light on iOS and Android this fall. However, as Tabata has commented to the
Eurogamer portal, Square Enix is still working to bring the most demanding
graphics version to this console.
"At this time, we are doing very specific technical
research to calibrate the possibilities. We have completed these tests and
concluded what we can do. We are in the middle of a debate about what we should
do and how to take it to Switch, "Tabata explains. "We have very
frank, open discussions with Nintendo about what they think is best done.
Everything is being studied for now. "
It seems that Square Enix will take Final Fantasy XV to
Switch, one way or another. And it sounds as if the announcement of this
version would occur in the coming weeks. Comparably, Bethesda recently announced
the arrival of this console of two of its most powerful cross-platform titles:
Doom and Wolfenstein 2.
