Rainbow Six Siege rules out its release on Nintendo Switch

Ubisoft would like to expand the user base but believe that there are "technical limitations" that prevent it.

The main responsible for the Rainbow Six brand has closed the door to the latest episode of this renowned tactical action saga premieres on Nintendo Switch due to "technical limitations" that would prevent the remarkable Rainbow Six Siege to function as the French studio wants.

"It is not possible with technical limitations, especially with regard to the rate of images per second, 60 fps plus the destruction of the stage is intensive for the CPU, so Nintendo Switch is not yet the Nintendo console where it will be published", Alexandre Remy has declared.

Ubisoft is determined to expand the user base of this powerful multiplayer action game that is why, continues the manager of the company responsible for the Assassins Creed series, in the future "if we have new platforms or new hardware, we would like to be there". Given that Bethesda has brought to the Nintendo hybrid console such outstanding technical titles as DOOM or Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, it would be possible for another studio to take over the adaptation of Rainbow Six Siege to Switch, but in Ubisoft, they are not very convinced.

"It could come from another studio but it would be surprising because without the 60 fps this is not the same game", said the director of Rainbow Six Siege. "60 fps on Nintendo Switch with procedural destruction? Good luck" adds Leroy Athanassoff.
