Unlike DOOM, the game uses the Avalanche graphics engine.
Bethesda has bet heavily on Nintendo Switch bringing some of its most important action titles to the hybrid console, including the promising DOOM Eternal, which was announced only a few weeks ago. What's up with RAGE 2 ? The publisher already advanced days ago that it studies the possibility of adapting it to Switch , and that intention remains to this day.
One of the top managers of Bethesda has ensured that they are still "studying" the option of adapting this exciting action video game to Nintendo Switch, but there is still a lot of work ahead. "We've talked about it but it's a completely different technology," said Pete Hines. "The great thing about Doom, Wolfenstein and Doom Eternal is that they all use Id Tech , while RAGE 2 relies on Avalanche technology, which is a different beast with an open world without interruptions."
"We've talked about it," insists the Bethesda executive, "but it's still not clear that it can work in Switch." Pete Hines recalls that the studio wants "as many people as possible" to enjoy their video games. "It takes a lot of time and effort to create a game of this level, so if taking them to other platforms allows more people to enjoy them, great."
