Square Enix wants to speed up the localization of the new Dragon Quest

The highly anticipated Dragon Quest XI has been available in Japan for some time.

One of the main problems facing the big Japanese productions is the time it takes to localize a game to Western languages. In recent times, numerous leading studios have managed to accelerate this process, including Square Enix; and it seems that the Dragon Quest series could benefit from these advances in the future.

As producer Yuu Miyake explains in an interview with Game Informer, "[the localization process] takes a long time due to the nature of the game and the text of Mr. Horii [scriptwriter and director]: they are very important parts of the title, and they are of great value to the fans, obviously, we want to make that process shorter and more efficient . "

Dragon Quest XI will arrive at our lands on September 4, approximately one year after its premiere in Japan. Miyake is confident that "it will satisfy the expectations of the old school followers, but at the same time, I think many new players will play it for the first time, and they will not see it as outdated, but they will accept it and play it as a modern game".
