Fortnite: Sony shares on Wall Street down for incompatibility with Switch

From the Japanese company, they assure to listen to those who want to see compatibility between their PS4 accounts and the rest of the platforms.

Although it is not at all a novelty, mainly due to the closed-door policy that Sony has with the rest of the platforms, the fact is that many people have taken back by surprise the fact that the Fortnite players on PS4 cannot use their accounts in the Nintendo Switch video game console: The latest edition of the Epic Games shooter to launch. That is why the actions of the manufacturer are coming down.

Thus, while it is possible to exchange accounts between versions of PC, Xbox One or even mobile phones with the Nintendo video game console, PlayStation 4 continues incomprehensibly to the margin of other platforms in terms of using the same account in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

This, of course, has had consequences. And the fans have expressed their dissatisfaction but, what for a company ends up being so important or more, so have the shareholders. "We are always open to listen to everything that interests the PlayStation community when it comes to improving their gaming experience," they explain in a statement issued through the BBC in which they respond to the harsh criticism their policy is receiving for it. Of course, also qualify that, for now, and beyond it, have nothing more to add.

Thus, and as revealed by the prestigious British news channel, Sony shares have fallen by 2% in a very short time (one day) in line with this decision, a move that could worsen in the future. Why does this effect occur? The shooter of Epic Games is the worldwide phenomenon of the moment and, in fact, Switch is already a success, where Fortnite has been downloaded more than two million times in just 24 hours.
