The new Legend of Zelda will continue to bet on freedom

Aonuma does not want to lose what has been one of the great triumphs of Breath of the Wild.

It is still early to know the first details of the new episode of The Legend of Zelda but if something is clear to the Nintendo team in charge of this saga is that freedom of action will be a key aspect of the game.

"The incredible freedom that this game offers and how well received it has meant that this level of freedom is something that should be maintained in future Zelda games," said veteran producer Eiji Aonuma, speaking of the success of The Legend. of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. "My eyes have opened to how important that is," adds the Japanese creative.

In the same line has been the director of Breath of the Wild, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, who emphasizes that one of the precepts that gave rise to the game was that "should have multiple answers, multiple paths and multiple ways of doing anything." This includes the dungeons themselves. "We wanted players to be able to solve problems the way they wanted without us knowing what they would do to solve them."

Aonuma explains it in another way. "We always wanted to guarantee that the challenge could be challenged, if, for example, before you did not have the right tool or did not meet the requirements, you did not want to do that," says the Nintendo creative. Therefore, looking to the future, "we would definitely consider that way of thinking".
