Aonuma believes that had he left earlier, Super Mario Odyssey could have taken the prize.
This morning we told you that the Golden Joystick Awards
2017 had been
awarded The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the winner of the juiciest prize: the GOTY. Since the votes were
open to the public, the video game development team has been shown on video to
thank the fans who made this prize possible by clicking from home.
Eiji Aonuma, the producer
of the series, heads the representatives that have been seen on camera. "I feel relieved that Super Mario Odyssey
only took a week in the market when the voting ended," says the Japanese
creative, before giving way to the heads of the art, design and audio teams.
Zelda has won the first prize for the game of the year, but
there are still several galas to be celebrated, in which Super Mario Odyssey will
be part of the nominees among many other great games, which is, of course, what
is truly celebrated. Meanwhile, Aonuma
reminds Zelda fans that this year they
still have the opportunity to play the second DLC, the Ballad of the Chosen. It
is expected that a date will be announced in the coming weeks.
