Nintendo Switch was in August the best selling console in the United States

In the last six months the Switch has occupied this same position four times.

For the second consecutive month Nintendo Switch has become the best-selling console in the United States according to the NPD Group, which does not provide concrete data on the number of units that have been distributed over the last four weeks.

Since it went on sale in March of this same year, in the last six months Nintendo Switch has been four times the best selling console in the United States although, in total numbers, to date, PS4 remains the best selling machine in USA during 2017. Without concrete figures it is difficult to determine how far apart the two consoles are.

During the month of August hardware sales fell by 6% compared to data collected in the same period last year, with revenues of 168 million dollars. NPD Group reports that there has been a "decline" in sales of Xbox One and consoles of the past cycle, Nintendo Switch being the machine that has prevented these negative data from being more accused.

So far this year, however, spending on hardware has increased by 17% compared to the data for 2016, with revenues of 1.7 billion dollars. "Consumers are spending on Nintendo Switch and Plug N Play devices such as Nintendo Classic Mini: NES is growing," says the consultant.
